There are so many outstanding places to dine in Paris but I tend to favor the restaurants that don't have the Michelin stars. The smaller, family run bistros that prepare food based on what is fresh and in season for that day are the places I frequent.

I really enjoy Lezard Cafe in the Second Arrondisemen, it is always busy at lunch and often hard to find a seat. They prepare a delicious salmon tartare and their Salade Saveur is the dish I always order. The Salade Saveur has baby lettuce with fresh slices of mozzarella, sliced roasted chicken, pine nuts and sun dried tomatoes in a pesto vinaigrette. For dessert, try the tarte tatin.

If you are looking for the traditional chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce and pommes frites, you won't find any better than at Chez Georges. This restaurant has been in the same location for 100 years and they continue to serve all the classic French dishes. Their profiteroles with choclate sauce are the best.

I love walking around this area near the Place des Victoires and Etienne Marcel for shopping. Here you will find many boutiques and one of my favorites is Jay Ahr. This shop sells its own line of evening and cocktail dresses as well as jersey wrap dresses.

]The first place I usually visit when in Paris is my favorite tea salon, Mariage Freres. There are several locations throughout the city and I always stock up on my favorite teas as well as sit down to enjoy one of their beautiful salads with a pot of tea. They must have over 100 different loose teas all stored in large black and gold cannisters that they bring to you so that you can smell the aromas from the different teas. My favorite teas are Noix de Coco, which has pieces of coconut, American Breakfast which has aromas of chocolate, French Breakfast which has aromas of vanilla, and Amande, a very aromatic almond tea with tiny pieces of almond.

Sixth Arrondisement

While walking around the Sixth, which is a great shopping area, I like to have lunch at L'Horloge and have their Salade compose' L'Oceane. It has mixed greens, fresh pink grapefruit sections, hearts of palm, fresh shrimp and smoked salmon in a citrus vinaigrette.

I adore Paris and for the past 20 years I have been compiling a list of my favorite boutiques where Parisian women shop.

I travel to Paris at least four times a year and I am always in search of that unique shop that reflects the effortless style that Parisian women embody.

I want to share these finds with you and I have also included my favorite restaurants, tea salons, Patisseries and chocolatiers.

You can see my complete list by ordering my book on Lulu.com," Paris Style, An Insiders Guide to Shopping and Dining." Author , Joanne Horning.
